Reading Passage
Last Saturday, Emma went shopping with her mother. They wanted to buy some food for the weekend. In the supermarket, they bought a few apples, some bananas, and a loaf of bread. Emma also asked for some milk, but there wasn’t much left on the shelf. Her mother said, “We don’t need many bananas. Let’s buy only a few.” After that, they looked at the clothes section. Emma saw a beautiful red dress. “Whose dress is this?” she asked. “It’s not anybody’s; it’s for sale,” her mother laughed. Emma smiled and said, “I hope it can be mine one day.” They paid for the food and carried the bags home. Emma was very happy because she helped her mother and also learned how to use money wisely. She promised herself, “Next time, I will choose something useful, not just something pretty.”
