Giving the wrong answer
Tom
In my maths class last week, the teacher asked a question about a difficult sum. I put my hand up because I thought I knew it. When I said the answer, all my classmates laughed. I felt really bad. But my teacher smiled and said it was a good try. She explained the sum on the board again. After that, I didn't feel upset anymore. Now, I always try to answer questions, even if I am not sure.
Sara
We were looking at maps in our geography lesson. The teacher pointed to a place and asked me for the name. I said 'Brazil', but it was 'Argentina'! My face felt so hot and red. I just looked down at my desk and wanted to hide. After the lesson, my best friend walked with me to the school café. She told a funny joke to make me smile. It really helped me to forget about my silly mistake.
Ben
I usually like my English classes. But yesterday, I had to read a story out loud. I lost my place and read the wrong line. A few students started laughing quietly. I felt quite silly. During the break, I thought about it a lot. Then I remembered that my friend did the exact same thing last month. Nobody remembers his mistake now! Everyone gets things wrong sometimes. You just have to laugh about it and keep going.

Welcoming new students
The First Morning
When new students arrive, you must smile and say hello. This makes them feel happy right away. You should show them the important rooms in the school. Give them a map so they do not get lost. You can also give them a little book with school rules. New students often have lots of questions. You must listen to them carefully and answer them. Do not ask them to speak to the whole class on the first day.
In the Classroom
You can use fun games to help everyone learn the new student's name. You should not give them a difficult test in their first week. Instead, you can put the class into small groups for their work. This helps the new student talk to other children and make friends quickly. You can ask the new student about their hobbies or favorite sports. If they like football, you can tell the sports teacher. The sports teacher can invite them to join the team.
Breaks and Going Home
Break times can be scary for a new student. You must make sure they do not eat their lunch alone. You can ask two friendly students to sit with them in the school café. You should also take the new student to the playground and show them where they can relax. At the end of the day, you should ask the new student how they feel. You can send a short message to their parents to say they had a good day.

Our favourite teacher left
Liam
My sports teacher, Mr. Davis, left our school last month. I felt really sad because he helped me get on the football team. At first, I didn't want to play sports anymore. My friends felt upset too. Before he moved to his new school in another city, we bought him a nice watch. He smiled and said thank you. We have a new teacher now, but I still miss Mr. Davis when we play football.
Emma
I cried when Mrs. Clark said she was moving to a different school. She was my art teacher and her lessons were always so much fun. She played music while we painted! On her last day, our whole class made a big beautiful card for her. Everyone wrote a nice message inside. Our new teacher is good, but the art room feels very quiet now. I hope Mrs. Clark comes back to visit us one day.
Noah
Maths was always a difficult subject for me, but Mr. Smith made it easy. When he told us he had a new job at another school, I felt quite unhappy.
