Packing at the last minute
Alex
I am going on a beach holiday with my family tomorrow. I always pack my suitcase at the very last minute! Tonight, I put all my summer clothes into my bag very fast. But I felt very stressed because I couldn't find my favourite sunglasses. I looked everywhere in my bedroom! Finally, my mum found them under my bed. I shut my suitcase, but then I remembered my swimsuit. It is still in the bathroom! I have to open my bag and start again!
Ben
Our school trip to the mountains is tomorrow morning. I want to make a great video for my channel online, so I need to take my big camera. I started packing very late tonight. Now, my suitcase is completely full of cameras and batteries! I feel so worried because there is no space for my warm jackets or my boots. I think I must take a smaller camera instead. Packing is really difficult when you want to make videos!
Charlie
I am travelling to see my cousins this weekend. I only started getting my bag ready an hour ago! I always worry that I will need lots of different clothes. So, I put five pairs of jeans, thick sweaters, and three pairs of shoes into my small suitcase. Now, it is too heavy and I cannot close the zip! I am sitting on the bag, but it doesn't work. Trying Unusual Food on Holiday
Start Small
When you visit a new country, you do not have to eat a big plate of strange food. You can start with something small. If your family orders a new dish, just ask to try a little bit of it. You can eat it with your favourite food, like rice or bread. This makes the taste less strong. If you do not like it, that is fine! You can always buy a simple sandwich later. You are brave just for trying it!
Ask Questions
Before you try a strange meal on holiday, you should talk to the waiter. Ask them what is inside the dish. Sometimes, unusual food is just chicken or fish with different vegetables. If you know what you are eating, you will feel much braver. You can also ask local people how to eat it. They will happily show you the right way. It is fun to learn new things about the country's food. You might find a new favourite dinner!
Forget the Look
Some foreign food looks very strange or has funny colours. But you must remember that things often taste much better than they look! If you feel afraid, try to close your eyes when you take your first bite. You should also smell the food first. A great scent can make you feel hungry and excited. Do not think about the strange shapes on your plate. Just enjoy the amazing flavours. You will be proud of yourself at the end of the meal.

A disappointing day out
Oliver
Last summer, my family and I travelled to an old castle on a hill. I was very excited to go inside. But when we arrived, the big doors were closed. A man there said it was dangerous because of the strong wind and rain. I felt quite sad. I really love history. Instead, we found a warm café in the town. I drank some hot chocolate and bought a book about the castle. I hope we can go back next year!
Sophie
I wanted to see the famous clock tower in the city centre. I needed to take some photos of it for my school homework. But when my mum and I got there, we could not see the clock. There was a very tall wall around it because people were repairing it. I felt angry at first because I travelled a long way. But then we went for a long walk in a beautiful park nearby, and we had a great afternoon.
Daniel
Last weekend, my friends and I took a train to a big science museum. We really wanted to see the dinosaur room. But we woke up very late. When we finally walked to the museum, it was not open. A sign said it closes at four o'clock on Sundays. I was so upset! We did not want to go home immediately. So, we sat on the grass outside and ate our sandwiches.
