Our community clean-up project

For my social studies project, I decided to clean the large park behind my house. It was a very sunny day, so I asked my younger brother and sister to come and help me. We worked for three hours and filled five big bags with plastic bottles and sweet wrappers. At the end of the day, my arms and legs hurt a lot, and I needed to sleep! But I was very happy because the grass looked beautiful and green again.

My friend Sam and I are in the same social studies group, so we went to the river to pick up rubbish together. We wore warm coats because it was cold and it rained all morning. We found a lot of typical rubbish, but I also pulled a very old boot out of the water! I thought that was really funny. Learning biology outside in nature

I love our outdoor biology lessons. I always hated sitting at a desk all morning. Now, we walk around the school garden and learn about insects. I like looking for small bugs under rocks and in the grass. I don't draw them because I am bad at art! Instead, I use my mobile phone to take photos of them. Later, I look at the pictures to learn their names. It is much better than reading a science book inside!

My favourite biology lessons are outside in the park. I am a very quiet person, and the classroom is often noisy. When we go outside, I feel very relaxed.
