Our morning routines
Tom
I wake up very early every morning. The first thing I do is go outside with my dog. He loves walking in the park! When we come back, I make my own lunch for school. I usually eat a quick piece of toast in the kitchen alone. After that, I like to read my favourite comic books on the sofa. Because of this, I often have to run fast to catch the school bus. I never want to be late!
Sara
I find it really hard to get out of bed. I use my mobile phone to play loud songs, and that helps me wake up. I share a bathroom with my older sister, so I have to wait a long time to wash my face. To give myself more time in the morning, I always put my books and pens in my bag before I go to sleep. I never eat breakfast at home. I just take an apple to eat on the bus.
Leo
My morning routine is always the same. I wake up at seven o'clock and do some quick exercises in my bedroom. It makes me feel ready for the day! Then, I go downstairs to the kitchen. My mum makes a really big breakfast for everyone. I sit at the table and eat a lot of food with my parents and brother. After we finish our meal, I walk to the bus stop. If it is raining, my dad drives me to school in his car.

Planning your weekly homework schedule
The Daily Planner
Do you often forget about your homework? You should write down all your school tasks on paper every afternoon. It is easier to remember them when you can see them. Start with the easy subjects first. You will finish them quickly and feel happy! When you study, you must remember to rest. You should take a short break every hour. You can walk around or drink some water. Do not look at your school books during this time!
The Weekend Schedule
It is nice to have free time on Sunday. You should try to do all your homework on Saturday morning. Then you can play sports or see your friends later! When you sit down to work, leave your mobile phone in another room. It is too easy to look at your messages. Sometimes, school work is very hard. You should not worry. You can ask your parents to look at the work with you. They can give you good advice.
The Study Group
Planning your homework schedule is more fun with your classmates. You can meet your friends after school and decide what to do together. It is a good idea to start with your most difficult school work. After you finish the hard things, the other tasks will seem very easy! Some students like to do their homework in silence. But you can also play some quiet music in your bedroom. This often helps you to think better while you work.

Buying cheap second-hand textbooks
Liam
I always get my school books from older students. Every September, our school has a special market in the hall. Teenagers in the year above us bring their old science and maths books. I like this because I can look at the pages first. I only buy clean books without any writing in them. Last year, I bought five books and they were very cheap. Next week, I am going to sell my old books there to the younger students.
Sofia
I buy all my second-hand books on a great app on my phone. People from different towns sell their old textbooks there. I really enjoy looking for the best prices. It makes me smile when I find a book for just one or two pounds! The only problem is that the books arrive by post. I usually have to wait four or five days before I can start reading them. My brother buys his books from a shop, but the app is cheaper.
Noah
There is a big bookshop in our town centre. It sells new and old books. I go there with my dad before the new school term starts. The man who works in the shop knows a lot about our school. He always shows me the correct books for my classes. Once, I bought the wrong history book. It was not a problem because the shop gave my money back the next day. I prefer buying from a person, not a computer.
