Photo-Editing and Identity
Alex
I love taking pictures of my city with my phone. I use an app to change the colors. I usually make them look dark and gray because I love old films. This shows my creative style. My friends saw my photos online. They loved them and wanted to try too. Now, I teach them how to use the special tools on the app. Next week, we want to take photos together at the park.
Bella
I use a fantastic photo app every day. I often add bright stickers of skateboards and guitars to my pictures. This tells people what I enjoy doing in my free time. Last month, I won a small school competition for my favorite picture. Many teenagers use apps to change their face or body, but I never do that. I think it is important to look real. My dad thinks my photos are great.
Charlie
I love taking photos of trees, flowers and the sky. Then I use an app to change them. I use different digital brushes to make my photos look like real paintings. I put them on my website to share my art. My older brother is great at photography. He always gives me excellent ideas and helps me pick the best filters. In the future, I hope to win a big prize for my work.

How to Stay Safe on Social Media
SafeChat Rules
Making new friends online is fun, but you must stay safe. Never give your telephone number to someone you just met on the internet. You should also look carefully at your pictures before you put them online. Check that they do not show your school uniform. Sometimes, an online friend might say they want to meet you in your town. If this happens, you must always tell your parents first. Do not go to meet them alone!
TeenWeb Guide
When you use your phone to chat on social media, remember these rules. You must never share the name of the street where you live. Also, think before you write a message. In the future, people you work for might see what you write online. Sometimes, people on the internet are not nice to you. If someone writes bad words to you, just stop talking to them. You do not have to answer their messages.
ConnectSmart Tips
Do you know how to be safe on the internet? First, you need a strong password. This is the secret word to open your account. You must never tell it to anyone, not even your best friends! Also, people online are not always who they say they are. Before you become good friends with someone, you should ask to do a video call. This helps you check who they are by looking at them on your screen. Then, you can talk to them safely.

A Alex B Bella C Charlie
Why we love voice notes
Alex
I always send voice notes because typing takes too much time. When I walk to school or carry my sports bag, I cannot look at my screen to type. Speaking into my phone is much easier. Another great thing about voice messages is that you can hear how someone feels. When you just read words on a screen, you do not know if your friend is happy or angry. When I hear their voice, I always know if they are joking with me!
Bella
I really prefer sending sound messages instead of typing. I always try to write fast, but then I make lots of spelling mistakes. My friends often do not understand my written messages! Voice notes are much better for me. Also, my best friend moved to another city last year. We send voice notes every day. When I hear her talk, it feels like she is sitting in the same room. It is much nicer than just reading a short text message from her.
Charlie
I love voice notes for sharing funny stories. If something amazing happens at school, I want to tell my friends everything. Typing a long story is really boring and my fingers get tired. I just press the button and talk for a few minutes. I also like saving my friends' funny messages so I can listen to them later when I am sad. The only problem is that you cannot play them loudly in quiet places, like the school library or the cinema!
