Class Video Call Guidelines
Getting Ready
You need to prepare before your online class begins. First, find a quiet room in your house where your family will not disturb you. It is a good idea to check your computer and internet connection ten minutes before the lesson. Make sure you have your books and pens on your desk so you do not have to look for them later. You can drink water, but you must not eat your breakfast or snacks during the call.
Listening and Speaking
When the teacher is talking, you must turn off your microphone. This stops extra noise from your room, like dogs barking or music playing. You must listen carefully to the lesson. If you want to ask a question, do not just start speaking. You should use the 'hand up' button on your screen or type your message in the chat box. Remember to turn your microphone back on when the teacher asks you to answer!
Your Screen and Camera
It is important to keep your camera on so the teacher can see your face. Sit in front of a window or a lamp so your face is nice and bright. Look at what is behind you, too. Your classmates can see your bedroom, so make sure it is tidy! You do not need to wear your school uniform, but you should wear clean, everyday clothes. Please do not play games on another screen during class.

Funny Email Mistakes
Leo
I had to send my science homework to Mr. Jones on Friday. I finished writing about plants and saved it on my computer. Then, I opened my email and attached a file. But I didn't look carefully! I sent a photo of my cat sleeping on my bed instead of my work. On Monday, Mr. Jones smiled and said my cat was very cute, but he still needed my science project. I felt silly, but I was happy he wasn't angry.
Mia
I wanted to send a message to my best friend about our weekend plans. I wrote a funny message with lots of little pictures of laughing faces. But I typed the wrong name at the top. I sent it to Mrs. Smith, my maths teacher! When I saw my mistake, I was very worried. But she wrote back quickly. She said she hopes I have a great weekend, but I still have to do my maths homework. I always check names now!
Sam
Last week, I wrote a story for my English class. It was very long. I opened my email to send it to my teacher, Mr. Clark. I didn't put it in a document. I wrote the whole story in the small box at the top where you just write what the email is about! Mr. Clark told me it was very difficult to read. He sat with me after class and showed me the correct way to send my work.
Answer Key & Explanations
7 C - Reason: Sam explains that his teacher "showed me the correct way to send my work," which means he learned how to do it correctly.
8 B - Reason: Mia says she "wanted to send a message to my best friend" but accidentally sent it to "Mrs. Smith, my maths teacher".
9 A - Reason: Leo says he "sent a photo of my cat", which is an animal. Text B has a trap about "pictures", but they were laughing faces.
10 C - Reason: Sam says he "wrote the whole story in the small box at the top", which is the wrong place to put a homework text.
11 B - Reason: Mia says her message had "lots of little pictures of laughing faces", which means she used funny faces.
12 A - Reason: Leo says "I was happy he wasn't angry." Happy means the same as pleased.
13 C - Reason: Sam says he "wrote a story" and notes that "It was very long." Text A has a trap about writing homework, but it does not mention the length.
