Learning Strategy with Online Chess
Leo
I love playing chess on my computer. The best part is that I can find players from many different countries. Playing against them teaches me a lot. Before I move a piece, I try not to play too fast. I always think about what will happen next. Sometimes I lose a match, but I do not feel sad. Making a bad move is actually useful because I understand what to do next time. My strategy gets much better when I learn from my mistakes.
Sara
I enjoy a special kind of online chess. It is very fast, and each player only has a few minutes. This teaches me to make quick decisions and improves my strategy. I don't use my phone to play; I always use my big laptop. To get better, I often watch videos of famous chess players on the internet. Seeing how they start their games gives me great ideas. I also practice these new moves with my dad at the weekend.
Tom
I joined our school online chess club last month. We have a competition every Friday. It is great fun to play with the other students in my class. When I have some free time on the bus, I open a chess app on my phone. To win, I try to remember the moves from my old games. If I see the same problem again, I know exactly what to do. Remembering the past is my favourite way to build a strong strategy.

Learning from famous gamers
Tom
I love watching live streams of famous gamers. My favourite gamer plays sports games. He is great because he teaches us how to move fast. He always speaks slowly and explains his new tricks very well. This helps me a lot! I usually watch his videos on Saturday mornings. I don't watch them alone. My younger brother sits with me and we try to learn together. Sometimes, the gamer plays very difficult levels, but we always enjoy the show.
Sara
I usually watch gaming videos after I finish my homework. I prefer to watch streamers who play brand new games. It is fun to learn about games that I do not know! When the gamer shows a good trick, I always write it in my notebook. Then I can use it later. Some gamers shout a lot when they win. I don't like that. I prefer people who have quiet voices. I watch them on my phone in my bedroom.
Mike
Watching live streams is my favourite hobby. I like to start my own game and play while the video is on. When the famous gamer does a trick, I try to do the exact same thing on my computer.
