Apps for making funny videos

Sam

I use an app called ClipFun to make funny videos. I am not very good at editing, so I love it because it is so easy to use. I usually film my little sister doing silly dances. I never put music on my videos. Instead, I like adding funny noises, like animal sounds! I don't post my videos online for everyone to see. I just send them to my grandparents.

Leo

My favourite video app is SmileMaker. A boy in my maths class showed it to me last month. I always record my two cats when they are playing. The best thing about this app is the pictures you can put on faces. I can put big glasses or a funny hat on my cats! My older brother wants to make long films when he leaves school, but I just want to make people laugh now.

Ben

I love making short videos where I tell funny stories. I use a great app called VideoStar. I used to do all my editing on my small mobile phone. But last week, my dad gave me his old tablet, and it is much better for cutting videos! The app has a tool for adding words to the screen, which helps people understand my jokes. It is free, but you must watch some adverts.

A guide on how to safely share your photography on social media

    Keep it Private

When you take great photos, you want to show them to your friends. But you must be careful. Check your account settings so only people you know can see your page. You do not want strangers looking at your pictures. Also, if you take a photo of your classmates, always ask them before you put it online. They might not want everyone to see it! You can talk to them at school to check it is okay. This keeps everybody happy and safe.

    Check the Background

Before you put a photo online, always look at the background. Is your home address or the name of your school in the picture? If strangers see this, it is not safe. You should also wait before you add your location to a post. It is better to share photos of your holiday after you come back home. You can show your pictures to your family then. Never tell the internet exactly where you are right now!

    Manage the Comments

Social media is a fun place to share your photography, but sometimes people write bad things. Remember that you can change your settings so only your best friends can write comments under your photos. If someone says something bad about your pictures, do not answer them. Instead, you should tell your parents or a teacher immediately. They can help you block the person. It is very important to remember that your safety is the most important thing when you are online.

      Reading digital comics

      Leo

I love reading digital comics on my tablet in bed. My dad gave me the tablet for my birthday. I don’t buy comics because I use a great library app. It lets me download lots of comics for free! I save my money for other things. My sister hates my comics, so I never share them. Sometimes, I plan to read, but I open a video game on my tablet instead. I never write my own stories because I am not very good at it.

      Sam

I always read comics on my tablet when I am on the bus to school. It is a long journey! I use my pocket money to buy new digital comics every week. Some people play games on their tablets, but I only use mine for reading. My favourite thing about reading on a tablet is looking at the art. I can touch the screen to make the pictures bigger. I want to draw like that one day, but I cannot do it yet.

      Toby

My older brother and I have a shared comic account on our tablet. He buys the comics, and we both read them at the weekend. I walk to school, so I never read on the journey. The tablet screen is quite large, so the pictures are easy to see. After I finish reading a great comic, I often use a special drawing app. I love making my own comic characters and writing stories for them. It is so much fun!
