Listening to loud music
Alex
When I feel angry about something, I go straight to my bedroom. I turn on my speaker and play loud rock music. I love jumping and dancing around my room to the loud guitar sounds. It really helps me to stop feeling bad. Sometimes, my dad knocks on my door and tells me to play it more quietly. After about twenty minutes of dancing, I always feel very tired, but I am not angry anymore.
Jamie
If I have a bad day, I need to get out of the house. I put on my big headphones so nobody else can hear my music. Then, I go for a fast run in the park. I choose electronic dance music because it is very loud and fast. The quick beat helps me to run faster, and soon I forget why I was angry. My brother usually plays video games when he is mad, but this works better for me.
Charlie
Listening to loud music is the best way to feel calm again. When I am upset, I don't want to hear new music. I always choose my favourite old pop songs because I know all the words. I sing them as loudly as I can! I usually do this in the shower so nobody can hear my bad singing. My best friend prefers to listen to quiet piano music when she is sad, but I need something really loud!

Advice for choosing a family movie
Take Turns
It is hard when your family likes different films. One good idea is to take turns. This week, you can choose the film. Next week, your sister or your dad can choose. You should write the days on a calendar so everyone remembers whose turn it is. With this plan, you will sometimes have to watch a film you do not love. But you must be nice and watch it with them. Next time, they will watch your favourite film with you!
Mix the Stories
Does your brother love funny films, but you prefer action? You should try to find a film that has two different types of story! Many action films are also very funny. This means both of you will be happy. Before you sit down to watch, it is a good idea to read about the film online. You can check if the story is fun for everyone in your family. Trying a new kind of film is always very exciting!
Play a Game
You can make picking a film into a fun game for your family. Give everyone a small piece of paper. Ask them to write the name of the film they want to watch. Then, put all the pieces of paper into a big bowl. Ask your mum or dad to close their eyes and take one paper out. The name on that paper is the winner! Everyone has a chance to win, and it is very fair.

Finishing a long book series
Nina
I just finished the last book of the Dragon Magic series. There are eight books in total, and I read them all with my younger sister. When I read the final page, I felt very happy. The ending was great! But I also felt a little sad because I cannot read about my favourite characters anymore. Next week, I am going to buy a new book. It is by the exact same author. I hope it is just as good!
Leo
I am so happy today! I finally finished the Space Heroes books. It took me a whole year to read all of them. I usually hate long books and only read short stories. So, I feel really proud of myself. The story is about people travelling to different planets. Last night, to celebrate finishing the series, my family and I sat in the living room and watched the movie about the first book. It was fantastic!
Maya
I love reading mystery books. I just finished a series of six books about a teenage detective. I did not buy them from a shop. I borrowed every book from the town library because I want to save my pocket money. The story was very exciting. In the last book, there was a big secret. I read very fast because I wanted to know the answer! I felt so happy and surprised when I found out the truth at the end.
