Downloading e-books and music for a long train journey
Travel Smart
Are you going on a long train trip? You must prepare your phone before you leave your house. Always download your favourite e-books and music using your home internet. If you use the internet on the train, it can be very slow. Also, it might cost a lot of money. You can make special folders on your phone. Put your music in one folder and your books in another. This makes it easy to find everything quickly when you are sitting on the train.
Mix It Up
A long journey can be boring, so you need lots of different things to do. Do not just download one type of music. You should get some fast pop songs and some slow, quiet music too. Have you ever tried an audiobook? It is great to listen to an actor read a story to you. You can often find websites that let you download three or four e-books for free. You do not have to pay anything to try them.
Power Saver
When you read e-books or listen to music for a long time, your phone battery gets low quickly. Before your trip, download music files that do not need the internet to play. You should also turn off your internet when you are on the train. To save more power, change the light on your screen. Make it a little darker when you read your e-books. Remember to bring a charger with you in your bag, just in case you need it!

International pop songs
Lucas
Last summer, my family and I went to a big festival in Spain. I heard a really fast pop song there, and I loved it immediately! The band was jumping around the stage. I do not understand the words because they are in Spanish. But now, I want to learn the language so I can sing it. I play this song on my phone every evening when I do my school work. It helps me to finish my maths!
Emma
I went to South Korea with my parents last year. One day, I was buying a t-shirt in a clothes shop, and I heard an amazing Korean pop song. I found the song online as soon as I got back to the hotel. The music is great, but the short film that goes with the song is even better. I watch it every day! My classmates think the song is a bit strange, but I don't care. I love it!
Noah
We visited Italy two months ago. It is a beautiful country. We travelled to many different towns. On a very long bus trip to the mountains, the driver played some Italian pop music. One slow song was really beautiful. It makes me think of our nice holiday every time I hear it. I play the guitar, and I found the music for this song on the internet. Writing the Story
Welcome to our international film camp! In the first week, you will meet teenagers from all over the world. Together, you must decide what happens in your movie. Will it be a funny story or a scary one? You can draw pictures to show your ideas. You don't need to speak English perfectly to help with the story. You will practice your language skills while you work with your new friends. Remember to bring a notebook to write down your best ideas!
Making the Movie
Now it is time to use the cameras! You can choose to be an actor or stand behind the camera. Our teachers will show you how to use the equipment safely. We have lots of different clothes for the actors to wear. You can bring your own music to play while we film, but please do not bring expensive cameras from home. We have everything you need here. You will spend most of the day outside in the sunshine, so bring a hat!
The Final Video
In the last week, you will use computers to finish your project. You will cut the video and put the best parts together. This is when you can add cool sounds to make people jump! At the end of the camp, we will have a special evening. Your parents cannot come to the camp to watch, but we will put the movie on the internet for everyone to see.
