Comparing clothing prices
Lucas
I love famous sports brands, but they are quite expensive here. Last month, I went on a holiday to the USA with my parents. We visited a huge shopping centre. I could not believe it! The clothes there were much cheaper than in my city. I bought five T-shirts and two pairs of trainers. However, I had a big problem at the airport. My suitcase was completely full. I had to wear three T-shirts on the plane so I could take everything home!
Sofia
I always want to wear the newest fashion. I often use my computer to look at clothes shops in other countries. The prices on those websites usually look very low. But I do not buy my clothes from them anymore. When you order things from far away, you have to pay a lot of money to the post office to bring them to your house. In the end, the cheap clothes become very expensive. Now, I just go to the shops in my town.
Mateo
My favourite brand makes fantastic jackets, but they cost too much money in my country. I never buy them in my local shops. Luckily, my aunt lives in Japan. The prices for these jackets are very good there. Every year for my birthday, I choose a jacket online and send her a message. She buys it and posts it to me as a gift! Sometimes we go on holiday together, but I prefer getting my new clothes in the post!

You can buy beautiful local art and try delicious, cheap street food here. It is always very crowded with tourists and locals. Because there are so many people, you must hold your bag carefully. You can walk there from our hostel in ten minutes.
River Road
If you love fashion, you must visit River Road. This street has lots of small shops selling old clothes and cool hats. The prices are very low, so you can buy a great new outfit with your pocket money. It is also a beautiful street with colourful buildings, so do not forget your camera! The shops here close early at four o'clock, so it is best to go after breakfast.
Station Avenue
Do you want to buy a new phone case or a cheap computer game? Head to Station Avenue. This is a large indoor market next to the train station. It is a fantastic place to spend a rainy afternoon. Borrowing Winter Coats
Carlos
I travelled to England in December. In my country, the winters are very warm. Because of this, I forgot to put a winter coat in my bag! My host family laughed when they saw my thin shirts. The father gave me his old coat. He bought it twenty years ago, but it was still fantastic. It was a dark green colour and very heavy. I took lots of photos in it. I was never cold when I wore it outside.
Julieta
My trip to Scotland was amazing, but the weather was terrible. It rained every day! I only had a small jacket with me. My host mother saw that I was wet and cold. She gave me her long yellow raincoat. It was very big for me, and I thought I looked a bit silly. But it was brilliant because it kept the water out completely. When I walked to school in the morning, I always stayed warm and dry.
Mateo
I visited Canada last winter. I brought my favourite coat with me, but it was not warm enough for the snow. My host brother is the same age as me. He gave me a beautiful black ski jacket to wear. It looked amazing on me and I loved it immediately. At the end of my trip, I asked him if I could buy it from him. He said no because he needed it, but he helped me find one online.
