Hi, I'm Evan, and I am 15 years old. Last month, I went on an amazing holiday to Tokyo, in Japan, with my family. While we were there, I wanted to try something completely new, so I decided to join a special fitness class. I learned how to do Kendo. This is a traditional Japanese sport where people fight with large wooden swords. Today, I am writing this blog to tell you what I think about it.
I really enjoyed the Kendo class because it is a fantastic way to keep fit. At the start of the lesson, the teacher gave me a wooden sword. It was surprisingly heavy, and I had to hold it high in the air for a long time. Because of this, the sport is brilliant for building strength in your arms. You move your head and body down to the ground to show respect. But if you do this too quickly, it is a big problem. You can easily hit your head on the hard wooden floor! I almost did this twice, so I had to be very careful.
Overall, I think Kendo is a wonderful sport, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It is a great way to learn about Japanese culture and get healthy at the same time. But if you want to join a class, you must always remember to listen carefully to the teacher's safety rules. If you do that, you will have a fantastic and safe time!
