Cleaning the beach

Lucas

I went to the beach with my mum and dad on Saturday. There was rubbish everywhere. We worked hard all morning. I picked up lots of plastic bottles. Then, I found an old silver ring in the sand! It was very unusual. After we finished, the beach looked beautiful. I took some photos with my phone to show my friends. When I looked at the pictures, I felt really proud of our hard work.

Mia

Last weekend, my class decided to clean the local beach. We needed to do a project for our science lessons. When we arrived, it started raining. We got very wet, but we did not stop. We put all the rubbish into big black bags. Soon, I saw some sea birds come back to the clean sand. I was very tired at the end of the day, but I was so happy to see the birds.

Omar

My friends and I wanted to help our town, so we spent Sunday cleaning the beach. We found so many plastic bags and cups near the water. It took a long time to clean everything. When we finally finished, we were very hungry. We bought some pizzas and ate them together on the clean sand. We felt great about what we did. In fact, we want to go back and do it again next month!

    Relax your mind

Do you feel tired after a long day at school? The forest is a great place to rest. When you walk under the tall trees, you can find a quiet place to sit. It is important to leave your mobile phone in your bag. Looking at a screen all day can make your head hurt. In the forest, you only hear the wind and the birds. This helps you forget about your homework for a short time. You will feel calm and happy again.

    Move your body

If you want to feel good, you need to be active. The forest has many long paths for walking or running. You do not need any expensive sports clothes to enjoy it. Just wear some comfortable shoes and start moving! When you walk fast in the forest, you breathe clean air. This gives your body a lot of energy. You can also climb small hills. It is good for your legs and makes you feel strong. Exercise outside is always fun.

    Enjoy it with friends

Sometimes you can feel sad when you are alone. Why not invite your classmates to the forest? You can have a lovely picnic together under a big tree. Bring some healthy sandwiches and some fruit. It is easier to talk about your problems when you are walking outside. You can laugh, tell stories, and play simple games. You can even bring a camera and take pictures of beautiful flowers. Sharing your time in nature with good friends will make you smile all day.

      Rubbish in the park

      Leo

I go to the park near my house every weekend. I love taking photos of the birds there. But I feel very sad when I see plastic bags on the grass. Sometimes the little animals eat the plastic and get sick. It is really terrible. My older brother and I always take a big bag with us now. We spend an hour picking up the rubbish before we take our photos. I wish people would take their rubbish home.

      Mia

My friends and I play football in the park every Tuesday. It makes me unhappy when people leave dirty cans and glass bottles on the sports field. It is very dangerous for us when we run. We cannot play safely. I told my parents about this problem. Now, my mum and dad come with us and they bring strong bags. They help us pick up the glass before our game starts. The park is a great place, so we must look after it.

      Sam

When I was younger, I loved having picnics in our local park with my family. Now, I feel quite angry when I walk there. People often eat fast food on the benches and leave their empty boxes behind. It looks horrible and smells bad, so nobody wants to sit there anymore. Last week, I decided to do something about it. I painted a big sign for my school. It tells students to use the bins. I hope it changes things.
