Too expensive to be green
Emma
I watch a lot of videos online. Famous people always say we must buy special metal water bottles to help the planet. I really wanted one, but it was forty pounds! I only get a little pocket money every week, so I could not buy it. I bought a cheap plastic bottle instead. I use it every day, but I feel sad when I see other people with their expensive green bottles. I want to help, but things cost too much.
Leo
Many boys in my class have new school bags. People make these bags from old plastic, which is great for the earth. But they are very expensive! My friends always talk about how good they are. I feel a bit silly because I use my older brother's old bag. It is not a special green brand, but I think using old things is also good for the world. Still, I wish I had enough money to buy what my friends have.
Sofia
I am in the nature club at school. We learn about protecting animals and trees. The club wants everyone to wear special T-shirts. They use natural cotton, but they cost a lot of money. My parents cannot pay for them. I usually buy my clothes from a cheap supermarket. I love my club, but I always feel worried when we meet. I think the other members look at my clothes and think I do not care about the earth.

How to run a charity event calmly
Start Early
Do you want to plan a charity event for your school? You must start early. If you wait until the last minute, you will feel very worried. First, write all your jobs on a piece of paper. This helps you remember everything. It is also a bad idea to do all the work alone. You should ask your friends or family to help you. When you share the work, the event is much easier and more fun to plan.
During the Event
On the day of your charity event, there are always many people and lots of noise. If you feel tired, you must take a short break. Go to a quiet room and sit down for five minutes. Drink some water and breathe slowly. Remember that things are never perfect. Sometimes, a small problem will happen, like dropping a box or forgetting a poster. Do not get angry. Just smile and ask a friend to help you fix it.
When It Finishes
When your charity event ends, you will feel very tired but happy. Do not count the money immediately. Put the money in a safe box and wait until the next day. Right now, it is time to rest. You should send a quick message to all your helpers to say thank you. After that, go home and celebrate your hard work. You can order a large pizza and watch a funny film with your family.

Surprise animals in our town
Tom
I was waiting for the bus to school on Tuesday morning. Suddenly, a large fox walked onto the street. It was very close to me! Usually, wild animals run away quickly, but this fox was not scared of me at all. I slowly took my mobile phone out of my bag. I wanted to take a picture of it, but it went behind a wall before I could open my camera. I told my friends about it, but they didn't believe me!
Elena
Last night, I was doing my homework in my bedroom. I looked out of the window and saw a beautiful brown deer in our garden! I quietly called my dad to come and look. He was unhappy because the deer was eating his nice vegetables. When dad opened the back door, the deer heard the noise and ran away into the trees very fast. I felt sad because I wanted to watch it for longer. It was a wonderful surprise!
Lucas
At the weekend, I went to the town centre to buy some new shoes. While I was walking, I saw lots of people in the street. They were pointing up at the roof of a supermarket. I looked up and saw a small monkey! It was eating a banana. A woman next to me was taking pictures of it with her phone. Monkeys normally live in the forest, so it was strange to see one above the shops. I will never forget it.
