The fear of forgetting lines
Emma
I am the queen in our school play this year. I have a lot of lines to learn. I am really afraid that I will stand on the stage and just stop speaking! I always practice alone in my bedroom because I feel shy. To help me remember, I use a special trick. I draw small pictures next to my words on my paper. I also write the first word of my longest sentence on my hand before the show starts.
David
I play the funny doctor in our show. I know all my words when I am alone in the garden. But I worry a lot when many people look at me inside the theatre. Sometimes, my head just goes empty! Luckily, my best friend plays the nurse. We have a great plan. When I forget my lines, he asks me a quick question. This helps me remember. I just hope I don't say the wrong words from an old play!
Sophie
Last year, I forgot my words in the winter show. It was horrible! So this year, I feel very scared about doing it again. My parents listen to me say my lines every night after dinner. My drama teacher is very kind. She told me not to worry too much. She said I can just say different words when I forget a line. The people watching don't know the real story anyway, so it is fine!

Coach's Guide: How to Be Positive When You Lose
Playing Together
When the match ends and your team has zero goals, it is easy to feel upset. But you must remember why you play. You are part of a team! The most important thing is spending time with your friends. If your teammates feel bad, you should talk to them and make them smile. A good player always helps others. You win together and you lose together. Do not get angry if someone makes a mistake. Next weekend, you can try again as a group.
Getting Better
Losing a game is actually a great way to learn. When you win easily, you do not always see your mistakes. After a bad match, ask yourself what you can do differently. Maybe you need to run faster or pass the ball more often. You can ask your coach for extra help during the week. Practice is the only way to improve your skills. Do not stop trying just because you lost one time. Every famous sports star loses games sometimes!
Enjoying the Game
It is normal to feel sad when the other team gets a high score. But you must think about the fun you had while playing. Sports are great because they keep your body healthy and strong. Running on the grass is much better than sitting at home. After the match, you should always walk to the other team and shake their hands. You should tell them they played well. The best concert ever
Toby
Last weekend, my parents took me to see my favourite singer. The stadium was very big and full of people. At first, I couldn't see the stage because a tall man stood in front of me. But then we moved to better seats. When the singer came out, everybody shouted. I sang all his new songs really loudly. The next day, I couldn't speak at all! I also bought a cool black T-shirt to remember the amazing night.
Maya
I never thought I could see my favourite pop star because the tickets were too expensive. But then I won a radio competition! I took my best friend with me. When the concert started, the music was so loud my ears hurt a little. The best part was when she sang her oldest song. It was so beautiful that I started crying. I felt so happy. We took hundreds of photos on our phones to show our classmates.
Leo
My brother and I travelled by train for three hours to see our favourite band. We arrived very early and waited outside in the rain. But we didn't mind! Because we were first in line, we stood right at the front near the stage. During the last song, the singer smiled and gave me his hat! I couldn't believe it. I didn't take any pictures because I just wanted to watch and dance. It was the best night of my life.
