The Camera Team
Do you love taking photos and videos? We need you for our Camera Team! Your job is to stand in the park and film people planting new trees. You must bring your own mobile phone or digital camera to do this. We want to see lots of happy faces and dirty hands! You do not need any experience. You just need to walk around and catch the best moments. The work starts early in the morning, so you must arrive at the park by 8 a.m.
The Interview Team
Are you good at talking to new people? The Interview Team is perfect for you! We need confident students to ask questions during the tree-planting event. You will talk to the helpers and ask them why they love nature. We will give you a list of questions and a microphone. You do not need to bring any equipment. This team will work in the afternoon after the lunch break. You will also get a free green t-shirt to wear while you work.
The Editing Team
We also need helpers for the Editing Team. You will not work outside in the park. Instead, you will work in the school computer room on Sunday. You will look at all the videos from the tree-planting event and cut the best parts. Your job is to make a short, fun film to put on the internet. We have all the computers and software you need. It is important that you know how to add music to videos. Lunch is free for all helpers!

Using old magazines to create room art
Lucas
My bedroom walls are full of art. A man who lives next door gives me his old sports magazines. I look through them and cut out photos of famous football players and fast cars. My little sister is very good at drawing, so she always helps me. We put the cut-out photos on big pieces of paper. Then, she draws lines and stars around them. It is very easy to do, and it makes my room look amazing. We never throw the old paper away!
Sophia
I do not use pictures from magazines for my art. Instead, I try to find big, colourful letters. I cut them out and use them to make words. I usually write my favourite song words or happy messages. I buy cheap picture frames from the supermarket and put my word art inside them. I keep the frames on the shelves in my bedroom. The best part is that I can change the words every week. My friends always read them when they visit me.
Ben
I use old fashion magazines to make bowls for my room. My grandmother showed me how to do this last year. You need a lot of paper and glue. I roll the magazine pages into long shapes and stick them together. It takes a long time! When the bowl is dry, I use my brush to add bright colours to it. I keep my keys and coins in a bowl on my desk. I also give them to my friends as birthday presents.

Saving electricity when streaming movies

When you watch movies at home, you can save energy easily! Do not use the big television in the living room. It uses a lot of electricity. Instead, watch on a smaller screen like a tablet or laptop. It is also a good idea to charge your tablet during the day. If you use it on battery power in the evening, you save more money. Some people leave their computers on all night. You must remember to turn yours off when the film finishes!
Change your settings
You do not need to buy a new device to save electricity. You can just change the settings on your phone or computer. First, make the screen a little darker. A very bright screen uses the battery much faster. Also, turn the sound down or use headphones. Next, look for the auto-play button and turn it off. This stops the next movie from starting when you fall asleep! These small changes really help the planet, and you can still enjoy your favourite actors.
Watch with others
Do you watch films alone in your bedroom? You use less electricity if you invite your family or friends to watch with you. One screen for three people is better than three different screens! Also, think about how you get your movie. It is much better to download the film to your computer first. Watching it online uses more energy from the internet. Do not forget to turn off the lights in the room before you press play. It makes the movie better too!
