Running the school photography club

Leo

I started running the photography club last year. My favorite job is planning our big photo shows. At the end of every term, we invite teachers and parents to see our work. I feel very happy when I see how much the other students improve. Their pictures get better every week! Sometimes it is hard because our cameras are quite old and they stop working. I have to fix them before our meetings. But I love being the leader.

Sara

I am the person who teaches the younger students in our club. When they first join, they do not know how to use a camera. I show them how to take clear pictures. I really like going outside to take photos of trees and animals with the group. There is one problem, though. The club does not have enough cash to buy new things. We want to get some good lights, so we are selling cakes next week to pay for them.

Toby

I never thought about joining the club until my best friend told me to come. Now, I am one of the leaders! I am in charge of our online page. Every Friday, I choose the best photos and put them on our website for everyone to see. While other students like taking pictures of places, my favorite thing is taking photos of faces. I love catching my friends' smiles. It is a fantastic way to remember our time at school.

Listening to soft music while studying

      Leo

I always listen to soft piano music when I do my homework. It really helps me think. I wear big headphones so I don't wake up my baby sister. She sleeps in the next room. Music is great when I do my maths homework. But when I have to read a book for English, I have to turn the music off. It makes it hard to understand the story. My friends think it is strange, but it works for me!

      Mia

My house is usually very noisy. My dad loves playing the guitar loudly in the evenings. Because of this, I listen to quiet music on my computer to block the noise. I don't listen to normal songs. I prefer to listen to the sound of rain or the ocean. These nature sounds make me feel calm. They are perfect when I write long stories for school. Sometimes my dad asks me to turn it up, but I like it quiet.

      Sam

I can't do my homework in silence. I like listening to soft music from famous films. I make sure the music has no words, because singers make me forget my work! I play the music on a small speaker in the living room. I don't like wearing headphones because they hurt my ears. I usually wake up and do my homework at six o'clock in the morning. The quiet music helps me wake up and start my day well.
