Making music playlists with friends

Lily

I started a music playlist for my friends last year. We all love going to the cinema, so I always add songs that we hear in great films. I only put three or four new songs on the list each week. If the list gets too long, nobody listens to everything! I tell my friends they must not delete any songs because I want to keep them all. Sometimes we listen to the playlist together when we meet at the weekend.

Tom

My friends and I have a great playlist for our chat group. I love looking for new bands on the internet that are not famous yet. When I find a good song, I add it to the list. Every Sunday, I ask my friends to vote for their favourite music on the list. We keep the best ones and take away the rest. I usually play our music quietly in my bedroom when I have to do my school work.

Maya

My older brother showed me how to make a shared playlist on my phone. Now, I make one for my best friends. We all play basketball, so I always add fast, loud songs. It helps us feel ready before a big game! We listen to it on the bus to the sports centre. At the end of every month, I clean up the playlist. I take off all the old songs and start again with completely new music.

Notices for a safe online platform for teen writers

    Getting Started

Welcome to our website! This is a great place to write your own stories. First, you need to make an account. To stay safe online, you should not use your real name. Choose a fun new name instead! After that, you are ready to begin. Sometimes it is hard to think of a good story. If you need some help, you can look at the pictures on our 'Ideas' page. They will help you think of something amazing to write.

    Sharing Your Work

When your story is finished, you can put it on the website. Only teenagers with an account can read what you write. Strangers cannot see your stories. We have some important rules for sharing. You must never write your home address or phone number in your stories. This keeps everyone safe. You can also choose if you want other people to leave messages on your story. If you want to keep your story quiet, you can easily turn this off.

    Reading Other Stories

You can also spend time reading beautiful stories by other young writers on our website. We want this to be a happy place for everyone. When you finish reading a story, you can write a short message to the writer. Always try to write kind and helpful words. We look at the website every day, but sometimes people say bad things. If you see a message that makes you feel sad or angry, click the red button to tell us immediately.

      Creative phone photos

      Mia

I enjoy taking photos of trees and flowers in the park. I do not use bright colours on my phone. Instead, I always use a black and white filter. It makes my new photos look very old. Sometimes, my brother asks me to take photos of his dog, but I prefer plants. I am in a photography club at my school. I show all my favourite pictures to the other students there. They usually love them!

      Lucas

My favourite hobby is taking photos of my two cats. I love using funny filters on my phone. I can make their eyes look really big or give them silly hats. There are many apps with filters you can buy, but I only use the free ones. I take lots of photos every day. My sister always looks at them with me. She tells me which ones are the best. Then, I send them to my friends.

      Chloe

I live in a big city, and I love taking photos of tall buildings. I use a special app on my phone to change the colours of the sky. The app was not free, so I used my pocket money to get it. I hope to join a photography club next year to learn more. When I take a really good photo, I print it. Then, I put it up in my bedroom so I can see it every day.
