Favorite online streaming platforms

Dan

I love using an app called Aniclub on my smartphone. My bedroom television is very old, so my phone screen is perfect for watching movies. I can watch videos in bed or on the bus to school. The platform has many Japanese cartoons. I really enjoy watching the old shows that I loved when I was a small child. My friends think these cartoons are boring, but I think they are very funny. I use this app every day after my homework.

Chloe

My favorite video website is PopStream. I don't pay anything because I use an account that belongs to my older sister. I often invite my classmates to my house on Saturdays. We sit on the sofa and watch funny movies together. The films are usually in English, so I always put the words on the screen. Reading them helps me understand the stories better. It also helps me learn new words for my school English lessons.

Sam

I use a popular platform called MegaBox to watch cool action films. It is a brilliant website because they add new movies very quickly after they come out in cinemas. However, the price is quite high. I must pay for it with my own pocket money every month, so I don't have much money left for sweets. My parents say I should watch standard television because it is free, but I think online platforms have better movies.

Guidelines on how to protect your eyes when reading digital comics in the dark

    Screen Settings

Many people love reading digital comics before bed. But a bright screen in a dark room is bad for your eyes. You should change your screen settings. First, make the screen darker. It should not look like a strong light. Next, try turning on "dark mode" or a reading filter. This makes the screen look yellow, not blue. Blue light can keep you awake and make your eyes feel tired. These simple changes will help your eyes feel much better while you read.

    Screen Breaks

When you read an exciting comic book, you often forget to stop. But looking at a screen for a long time hurts your eyes. You need to take short breaks. Every twenty minutes, look away from your tablet or phone. Look at something on the other side of the room for twenty seconds. Also, you must close your eyes and open them again often. This stops them from becoming dry. If your eyes start to hurt, you must turn off the screen and go to sleep.

    Room Light

Reading digital comics in complete darkness is a bad idea. Your eyes have to work very hard when the screen is the only light. To fix this, you should turn on a small lamp in your bedroom. This extra light helps your eyes. Also, think about how you hold your phone or tablet. Do not hold it too close to your face. You should keep it about 30 centimetres away. This is the best way to enjoy your comic and keep your eyes healthy.

      Making a podcast

      Alex

I make a short podcast every week about my favourite sports. I do not have a computer, so I use my mobile phone to record my voice. I like to sit in the park when I make it. Sometimes, there is a lot of noise from cars or the wind. When I go home, I use a free app to take away those bad sounds. It is easy to do, and then my podcast sounds great!

      Ben

I love watching films, and I talk about them on my podcast. I always record my voice in my bedroom because it is very quiet there. Last month, I saved my pocket money and got a new microphone from the internet. It was not expensive, but it makes my voice sound fantastic. After I finish talking, I always use a computer program to add a short pop song. My friends say they love listening to it.

      Charlie

My podcast is about news and fun events at our school. I never make it alone. I always invite different friends to answer questions. We sit in the school library to record because it is peaceful. We just use the library computer. Sometimes, my friends speak very quietly. So, I have to change the sound on the computer to make their voices louder. It takes a long time, but it is important for the listeners.
