What we buy for lunch at the school canteen
Liam
I love the school canteen because it has great hot food. I usually buy a slice of pizza or some pasta. They are delicious! I know I need to eat better, so I am trying to choose apples and bananas instead of crisps. I never buy a drink at the canteen because it is expensive. I always bring a large bottle of water from my house. My friends often buy sweet drinks, but I do not like them.
Maya
I do not eat meat, so I am very happy with the canteen food. I buy exactly the same thing every Monday to Thursday. I get a large green salad with tomatoes and a bottle of cold water. It is very healthy. However, on Fridays, I like to have a special treat. I buy a small chocolate cake to eat after my salad. My brother takes his lunch in a box, but I prefer buying mine.
Noah
I play sports during the lunch break every day. Because of all this exercise, I get very hungry! I usually buy a big chicken sandwich, but sometimes I get a bowl of hot tomato soup. It gives me lots of energy. The canteen sells nice ice cream and biscuits, but I never buy them. My mum bakes great cookies, and she puts two in my bag every morning. I eat them after my games.

Tips for reviewing class notes
Study Smart
Do you want to remember your lessons? You should look at your notes for 15 minutes every evening. Do this before dinner, not when it is very late and you are tired. Use different coloured pens to mark the most important words. This makes them easy to find. You can also draw small pictures next to your notes. This is a great way to help your brain remember the information for your next test. Do not just read the pages quietly!
Top Grades
Reviewing your class notes every day is a fantastic idea. You only need 15 minutes! First, you must find a quiet room. Turn off your phone so you do not hear any noise. It is helpful to read your notes out loud. You can ask your parents or your brother to listen to you. Teaching them about your lesson helps you understand it better. Do not write everything again because that takes too much time. Just read and speak!
Quick Prep
For a great test score, spend 15 minutes with your notes before bed. Do not read every word. You should find the best ideas and write them again on a clean piece of paper. Then, put this paper on your bedroom wall. You will see it every day! After you do this, close your notebook. Ask yourself questions about the lesson and try to answer them without looking at the paper. This is the best way to get ready!

Managing time with too many assignments
Alex
When I have a lot of schoolwork, I always write everything on a big calendar in my bedroom. I look at the days and decide what to do first. I prefer to start with the most difficult subjects, like maths. When I finish the hard exercises, I feel much better. Also, I never study for more than two hours without a break. I usually go outside and play football with my brother. It helps my brain to rest!
Ben
Sometimes my teachers give us really long history projects. I feel worried when I see them. So, I cut the big project into many small jobs. I use the clock on my mobile phone to help me. I study for twenty-five minutes and then I stop for five minutes. During my study time, I always wear my headphones. Listening to quiet music helps me to think carefully. I do not look at messages from my friends until I finish.
Chloe
I like to finish my homework quickly. When school finishes, I do not walk home. I stay in the school library because it is very quiet there. I can write my English stories much faster than at home. If I have a problem with a difficult question, I ask the library teacher for help. When I finally get home, I don't have to think about school. I can just watch my favourite cartoons on television.
