Our Recycled Fashion Show
Mia
I loved making clothes for our fashion show! I did not buy any new cloth. Instead, I used old things from my house. I made a beautiful skirt from lots of empty plastic bottles. I also created a dress using pages from old newspapers. It looked amazing! But just before the show, the paper dress broke. I had to use a lot of tape to fix it quickly. It was hard work, but my friends looked great wearing my clothes on the stage.
Leo
My job was to plan the room for our recycled fashion show. I wanted everything to look cool. I asked my older brother to come and help me with the lights. He is very good at that! I also spent hours finding the best songs to play while our friends walked on the stage. When we opened the doors, lots of students walked in. I did not think the hall would be completely full! Everyone loved the show and clapped very loudly at the end.
Sam
I was one of the models in our fashion show. I wore a cool jacket made of old juice cartons. Mia made it for me! Before I walked out on the stage, my legs were shaking. I do not like standing in front of big groups. But the music was great, and I smiled at the cameras. We did not sell tickets for the show. But after we finished, people gave us some cash. We will send all of it to a hospital for sick children.

Natural Plant Colour Camps
Yellow Sun Camp
Welcome to Yellow Sun Camp! Here, you can learn how to make a beautiful yellow colour from summer flowers. We will spend all morning outside in the garden, so you must wear a hat to keep the sun off your head. You need to bring an old white T-shirt from home. We will show you how to put the flowers and your shirt in hot water. You will love wearing your new yellow clothes!
Green Leaf Centre
At the Green Leaf Centre, you will use dark green leaves and vegetables to change the colour of your clothes. We will work inside our big kitchen to cook the plants in hot water. We give every student a pair of white socks to colour. After the camp, you must be careful when you clean your socks. Always wash them in cold water. If you use hot water, the green colour will quickly wash away!
Red Berry Project
Join the Red Berry Project to make pink and red colours! We use fresh fruit to colour cloth. You do not need to bring any clothes because we will give you a small cloth bag to colour. During the day, our teachers will talk about history. You will learn how people coloured their clothes many years ago before they had modern shops. The berry juice can make your hands dirty, so you will wear special gloves.

Arguing about clothes
Tom
I love going to the city centre on Saturdays. I often find clothes on sale and I buy them immediately. My parents get angry because my wardrobe is full. They tell me I do not need more t-shirts. I try to explain that it is important to have many different styles, but they do not understand. I keep my new clothes hidden in my room so they do not see them. It is hard when they check my bags!
Sam
My mum often tells me that I have too many jackets. She is probably right, but I like to follow fashion trends. We had a big argument last week about a new coat. I told her it was a great price, but she said my closet is already too small. Now, we have a new rule. I must give one old piece of clothing to a charity shop before I buy anything new. This makes my mum much happier.
Ben
My dad is very worried about the money I spend. He thinks I have enough clothes for a lifetime! I disagree, but I understand his point. I want to buy new trainers, but he says no. Instead of arguing, I decided to start saving my pocket money. I told him I will pay for the next item myself. He is very happy with this plan because he thinks it teaches me the value of money.
