Staying Safe Online

Before you buy something online, always look at the website address. A safe website has a small picture of a lock next to the name. If you do not see this, leave the website. You should also search for stories from other people who used the shop. If nobody wrote anything, or if they all say the same nice things, the shop might be fake. You can often see ads for these bad shops on your phone, so be careful before you click.

AdCheck

It is easy to find bad advertisements when you use the internet. Sometimes you see pictures on social media showing amazing shoes or games. But if the price is much lower than in a real shop, it is probably a trick. Fake shops also put a clock on the screen. This clock tells you to buy the item quickly before the time finishes. They want you to hurry so you do not think about their tricks. Always take your time to check.

PaySmart

A good shopping website always gives you safe ways to pay. You must use a known payment app or a bank card. Never send money straight from your bank account to a person you do not know. If you send money this way, you cannot get it back. Also, a real shop always has a real address and a way to call them. You must look for a telephone number on the website. If they only have an email address, do not buy from them.
