Fake Game Advertisements
Free Prizes
Do you see an advertisement that offers you a thousand free coins or a new phone? You must be very careful. If a message says you are a winner, it is probably not real. These fake ads want you to type your name and email address. Sometimes, they even ask for your game password. Never give your personal information to them. If a prize looks too amazing, it is always a bad idea to click on it.
Fake Games
Sometimes, an ad looks like a fun mini-game. It tells you to move a character or solve a puzzle on your screen. But when you touch the screen, you cannot actually play. Instead, the ad takes you straight to a store to buy the game. Also, the video often shows a completely different game from the real one. Always remember that these videos just want you to download something new. Do not touch the screen!
The Secret 'X'
When an advertisement finishes, you usually want to close it quickly. Many fake ads use tricks to stop you. They put a very small 'X' in the corner, or they make the 'X' the same colour as the picture. If you click in the wrong place, your phone will start downloading an app. You should wait for a few seconds. Watch the screen carefully until the real, clear 'X' appears, and then tap it slowly.
Answer Key & Explanations
7 C - Reason: This section tells you that "You should wait for a few seconds" before you tap the 'X' to close the ad.
8 B - Reason: The Fake Games section says that an ad might tell you to "solve a puzzle on your screen."
9 A - Reason: The Free Prizes section tells you that fake ads might "ask for your game password" and you should never give it to them.
10 B - Reason: This section explains that the video "often shows a completely different game from the real one."
11 C - Reason: This section talks about the 'X' button being "very small" or "the same colour as the picture," which makes it hard to see.
12 A - Reason: This section warns you about ads that offer "a thousand free coins or a new phone."
13 C - Reason: This section explains that "If you click in the wrong place, your phone will start downloading an app."

Using an App to Drink More Water
Emma
I always forgot to drink water at school. My head often hurt in the afternoons. Then, I found a fantastic app. It is like a fun game! Every time I drink a glass of water, a little plant grows on my phone screen. If I forget to drink, the plant looks sad. I really want my plant to be big and beautiful. Now, I always carry a water bottle with me and I never get headaches.
Noah
I do a lot of sports, so I need to drink a lot of water. I use an app that connects to my special water bottle. The app knows exactly how much I drink every day. My favourite thing is that my friends use the same app. We always look at who drinks the most water each week. I usually win because I play football every evening! I feel much healthier now.
Lily
Before I got my new app, I only drank sweet fruit juice. Water was very boring to me. But this app is brilliant. It makes a loud sound every two hours. When I hear it, I know I have to drink a big glass of water. At first, it was difficult to stop drinking juice. But now, I actually love the taste of cold water. My parents are very happy about this change.
Answer Key & Explanations
7 B - Reason: Noah says he and his friends "look at who drinks the most water" and he says "I usually win," which means he tries to drink more than them.
8 A - Reason: Emma says "My head often hurt in the afternoons" before she found the app, which means she felt ill.
9 C - Reason: Lily says her app "makes a loud sound every two hours" to help her remember.
10 A - Reason: Emma says that when she drinks water, "a little plant grows on my phone screen" and she wants it to "be big and beautiful."
11 B - Reason: Noah says he has an app "that connects to my special water bottle" so it knows how much he drinks. Text A has a trap because Emma carries a water bottle, but it doesn't connect to her app.
12 C - Reason: Lily says she "only drank sweet fruit juice" and then explains it was difficult to "stop drinking juice." Sweet means it has lots of sugar.
13 C - Reason: Lily says "My parents are very happy about this change," which means they are pleased about her new choice to drink water.
