Getting Ready for a Long Flight

I always prepare my tablet three or four days before we fly. I love watching funny movies on long journeys, so I download three or four of them. They make me laugh and the time goes quickly. I don't put any video games on my tablet. I usually play the games on the little screen in the aeroplane seat instead. My tablet battery lasts a long time when I only watch films.

My tablet is quite old and it cannot hold many big files. Before a long flight, I always have to delete old photos and apps first. Then, I have enough space to download my favourite puzzle games. I love thinking about difficult puzzles while I sit on the plane. I never download movies because they use too much space. My younger brother watches movies on his tablet, so sometimes I just watch his screen!

When you visit another country, finding the internet is easy. Many coffee shops and big restaurants offer free Wi-Fi for their customers. Usually, you have to buy a cold drink or a cake first. Then, you can ask the waiter for the secret word to use the internet. You can also visit the local library. They always have computers and free internet, and it is a quiet place to sit and send emails to your family.
Smart Safety
It is exciting to use the internet in a new city, but you must be careful. Sometimes, free Wi-Fi is not safe. You should never write your bank numbers or passwords when you use a free connection on the street. It is a good idea to download a special app to keep your phone safe before you travel. Also, you must change your phone settings so it does not connect to new Wi-Fi without asking you first.
Ready to Go
Before you leave your hotel or the airport, use their free Wi-Fi to plan your day. You can open your digital map and download the streets to your phone. You can also take photos of the places you want to see. Then, you do not need the internet when you walk around the city! If you really need to go online later, look for the official tourist office.
