Summer Sailing Camps
Blue Water Camp
Do you want to try sailing? This camp is perfect if you have no experience. On the first day, you will learn important safety rules on the beach. Then, you will spend the week learning how to turn and stop your small boat. You do not need to buy expensive sailing jackets because we lend them to you. On Friday, there is a friendly competition. You can invite your parents to watch you race! We only run classes during the day, so you go home for dinner.
Island Adventure Camp
This camp is for teenagers who already know a little about boats. You will learn how to work together in a team. In the middle of the week, you will sail a large boat to a beautiful island. You will put up tents and sleep under the stars! You also need to learn how to prepare hot food over a fire. We provide all the food and boats, but please bring a warm sleeping bag. It is a fantastic way to spend your summer!
Fast Wave Camp
If you love speed, you will enjoy this camp! We use very fast boats, so you must bring your own special sailing clothes and a good life jacket. We teach you how to control your boat when the sea is rough and it is raining hard. This means you are always safe. At the end of the week, everyone gets a special certificate. You can take this home to show your family what you can do. There is no camping, so bring money for the cafe.

Reading on the train
Tom
I love long train journeys. Last week, I travelled for four hours to visit my grandparents. It was very quiet, so I started reading a great adventure story. My older brother gave it to me for my birthday. I know many people read on their mobile phones now, but I only like reading paper books. The story was very exciting, but the train seats were so comfortable! I closed my eyes and slept, so I didn't finish the last few pages.
Sara
I was on the train coming home from a beach holiday yesterday. I bought a really old mystery novel at a market there. It is about a clever detective. I always listen to pop music on my headphones when I read. It helps me enjoy the journey. Usually, I finish books very quickly because I want to know the ending. But on this long trip, I read slowly because I didn't want this wonderful story to end!
Ben
Our school went on a trip to the mountains. The train ride took five hours and there was no noise at all. I usually listen to songs on journeys, but I left my headphones at home. So, I just read my new space novel. I won it in a writing competition at school. Because the train was so quiet, I understood every word easily. I didn't look out of the window once! I loved reading about other planets.

Advice for young photographers on a ferry
The Top Deck
Do you want to take amazing photos of the sea? You should go up the stairs to the top deck. It is outside, so you can see everything around you. This is the best place to take pictures of big birds flying near the ferry. You need to hold your camera very carefully because it is often windy up here. You must also remember to wear a warm coat. Sometimes it gets cold very quickly when the boat is moving fast!
The Front Window
Many young photographers love standing at the front of the ferry. There is a big window inside, so you can stay warm and dry on a rainy day. From here, you can take great pictures of the town when the boat arrives at the port. However, you have to be careful with the light. Sometimes the glass makes a bright mark on your photo. It is a good idea to put your camera very close to the window to stop this.
The Back of the Boat
You can find some great places to take photos at the back of the ferry. When the boat moves, it makes beautiful white lines in the water. This looks fantastic in pictures! You can often see small sailing boats following the ferry, too. If you travel late in the day, you can also get a wonderful photo of the sun going down over the sea. There are some seats here, so you can sit down and look at your photos.
