Homework on the Train

Felix

I take the train home every afternoon. I never do maths homework on the train because I need to write a lot. The train moves too much for that! Instead, I prefer to look at my English or geography books. Reading is much easier. The train is often very noisy with people talking. Because of this, I always wear my headphones and play rock songs. It helps me think about my school work. I finish the hard homework later when I am at home.

Sara

My journey home takes forty minutes. My classmate Anna takes the same train. We usually find two seats together and ask each other questions about history or science. It is a fun way to learn! But we can only do this if we find a place to sit. When the train is full and we have to stand up, we just talk about our day. Sometimes we play a game on my phone instead. Then I must do my homework after dinner.

Toby

I stay at school for football club, so I catch a very late train. It is usually empty, so it is nice and quiet. I always finish my maths homework on the journey. I do not like carrying heavy books, so I do all my work on my small laptop. It is great because I can just send the work to my teacher in an email. When I get home, I can just eat my dinner and relax with my family.

You will learn a lot on our museum trip today. You must bring a small notebook and a pen so you can write down interesting facts. You do not need to pack any food because we will eat at the museum café. However, please put some cash in your backpack. You can use it to buy a gift from the shop. You can bring your phone to take photos, but you must not bring any drinks inside the building.

    Forest Walk Trip

We are going to walk in the beautiful forest. It is often hot, but it might rain today. Because of this, you must pack a rain jacket, not a sun hat! Walking makes you thirsty, so remember to put a large bottle of water in your bag. You should also bring some healthy snacks. Please leave your mobile phone at home. We want you to look at the trees and animals. The teacher has pencils if you want to draw the birds.

    Beach Sports Trip

You will play a lot of fun games on the beach today. The sun is very strong there, so you need to pack a sun hat in your bag. You will get dirty and wet when you play in the sand. You must bring extra clothes to change into before we go home. This trip is completely free, so you should leave your money at home. Remember to pack a big lunch because there are no shops on the beach.

A history project about travel in the past

      Tom

My history project was about old trains. I chose this topic because my grandad drove trains many years ago. I asked him lots of questions and he helped me with my homework. It was really interesting! I wanted to put lots of photos of his old trains in my project. I looked on the internet for hours, but it was difficult to find good ones. So, my grandad gave me some real photos from his bedroom to use instead.

      Sara

I decided to do my history project about early airplanes. Last weekend, my parents took me to a transport museum in the city. I learned so much there! I read about the first planes and looked at real parts of them. The most unusual thing I learned was that the first planes were actually very slow. I couldn't believe it! I wrote four pages about them for my project. I didn't draw any pictures because I am very bad at art.

      Ben

For my project, I learned about how people travelled on bicycles in the past. I didn't use the internet at all. I found a very old bicycle in our garage. It belonged to my great-uncle. I cleaned it and even tried riding it in the garden. It was very heavy! I brought it to school to show my classmates. For the homework, I liked drawing careful pictures of the bicycle much more than writing long stories about it.
