Finding the meeting point

Guide A: The Park Meeting Point

You need to meet Mr. Clark at the big park. Look at your map and find the green areas. These are parks or gardens. You will see a small picture of a tree. Our meeting point is right next to it. Follow the brown lines on your map because these are the walking paths. Please do not walk on the grass. You must be there five minutes before the meeting time. Do not be late, because we have a lot of things to do today!

Guide B: The Museum Meeting Point

Mrs. Smith will wait for you at the city museum. To find it on your map, look at the black shapes. These shapes show the different buildings in the city. The museum is the biggest square. You can also see lots of small squares on the paper. Count the small squares to see how far you have to walk. Each square is one hundred metres. When you find the museum, please stand outside the front doors. You cannot go inside until the teacher arrives.

Guide C: The Station Meeting Point

Your group must meet Miss Jones at the train station. It is very easy to find. First, look for the blue line on your map. This is the river. The station is very close to it. You also need to look at the letters N, S, E and W in the corner of your map. These tell you which way to walk. You must walk North from the cafe to find the station. Please stay together in your groups so you do not get lost.

    Our Youth Hostel Trip

    Toby

I went to a youth hostel in the mountains with my class. Before the trip, I felt quite nervous. I never share a bedroom at home, so I didn't know if I could sleep with five other boys! But it was actually really fun. We talked for hours in the dark. Because we went to sleep so late, I didn't open my eyes until 9 a.m. the next morning! I usually get up at 7 a.m. for school. The teachers cooked us a great breakfast.

    Sara

Our class stayed at a lovely youth hostel near the sea. When I looked out from my bed in the morning, I could see the boats on the water. It was beautiful! In the evening, we walked to the shops. I found a nice pen for my little sister. When we got back to the hostel, our teacher gave us all some hot chocolate and biscuits. It was a lovely way to finish the day. I slept very well that night.

    Liam

We stayed in a very big youth hostel in the city. The best part of the trip was dinner time. We didn't buy our food. A few of us went into the hostel kitchen and cooked pasta for the whole class! After dinner, we went to the games room. I played table tennis with some boys from another school. It was great to make new friends. We wanted to buy some snacks, but the hostel shop was closed.

You must show your student ID card to the driver every morning. Please have your card ready in your hand before the bus arrives. This helps everyone get to school on time. Do not look for it when you are standing at the bus door. If you lose your card, you cannot travel on this bus. You must go to the school office to buy a new one. Remember to keep your card clean so the driver can read your name.

      After-School Sports Bus

Students travelling to sports games must show their ID card to the bus driver. You must bring the real card with you. A photo of the card on your mobile phone is not okay. You need to keep your card in a safe pocket in your jacket or bag. Some students leave their cards on the sports field. Please check you have it before you get on the bus to go home. You can only bring one small sports bag on the bus.

      Weekend Trip Bus

If you want to travel on the special weekend bus, you need your student ID card. The driver will ask to see it. When you show your card, you can buy a cheap ticket.
